Children/Minors
Aloha Welcomes Keiki (children)
Aloha Airlines welcomes keiki (children) on board our flights. However, children traveling as unaccompanied minors require special handling to ensure their comfort and safety.
Travel by Unaccompanied Minors
Children must be at least 5 years old for travel on non-stop Aloha Airlines flights and 8 years old for travel on flights requiring a connection on Aloha Airlines.
Once a child reaches 15 years of age, he or she can travel alone. A parent may request unaccompanied minor handling for children up to 18 years of age.
Reservations must be booked through the Aloha Airlines Reservations Call Center. Reservations cannot be made online via the website.
Aloha Airlines will not accept bookings for unaccompanied minors on any flight that is the last Aloha Airlines flight of the day to that destination.
Aloha Airlines does not accept bookings in every case for unaccompanied minors under age 12 who are transferring to or from another airline. Aloha may limit connecting services depending on the specific itinerary. Reservations Agents can provide more information on specific itineraries.
If a child’s itinerary involves travel on more than one airline, please check with other carriers to determine their policies for carrying unaccompanied minors.
Check-in procedures
Domestic flights: please arrive at the airport two hours before departure.
Children cannot travel unless an unaccompanied minors form has been submitted by a parent or other responsible adult. The form requires parents or responsible adults to provide the name, address and phone number of the parent or responsible adult who will meet the child at his or her destination. Forms are available at all Aloha Airlines Check-In locations.
The escorting parent or adult must obtain an escort pass from the airport ticket counter and remain with the Unaccompanied Minor until the child boards the flight and the flight departs from the gate. The adult and child should be present at the gate no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time to be available for pre-boarding.
If the flight is delayed or the flight is diverted to another airport, the adult who booked the flight is responsible for making alternate arrangements for the child's travel.
Upon arrival
An unaccompanied minor can only be released to the person whose name is listed on the form filled out at the time of departure.
The adult designated to pick up the unaccompanied minor should be at the airport at least 30 minutes before the flight's scheduled arrival time. Please check with an Aloha Airlines Representative for pick-up procedures.
The adult named on the form must present a picture ID.
