Children & Unaccompanied Minors
Infants at least 14 days of age who have not yet reached their second birthday are considered Lap Children and do not require a seat onboard the aircraft. Lap Children will be carried free of charge on domestic flights when traveling with a customer at least twelve (12) years of age, paying the applicable adult fare.
Children who have not reached their 12th birthday not accompanied on the same flight by a passenger twelve (12) years of age or over are accepted for transportation as Unaccompanied Minors.

* Following are ATA's acceptance criteria for Unaccompanied Minors:
o Children 14 days of age to 5th birthday are not accepted for transportation without a passenger twelve (12) years of age or over on the same flight.
o Children 5 years of age to 8th birthday are accepted on flights that operate non-stop or direct from the airport of origin to the airport of destination.
o Children 8 years of age to 12th birthday are accepted on flights that operate non-stop, direct or connecting from the airport of origin to the airport of destination. If the itinerary includes a connecting flight, no more than four hours may transpire between the child's arrival in an interim city and departure of the continuing flight.
* ATA will not accept unaccompanied minors on flights operated by codeshare agreement airlines or flights that connect with other airlines.
* ATA will NOT accept Unaccompanied Minors on the last ATA flight of the day, when the travel itinerary includes a stop in an interim city. This restriction is a precaution in the event of a flight irregularity, delay or cancellation causing a misconnection in the interim city.
* Upon request, completion of necessary forms and payment of applicable fees, ATA will accept unaccompanied adolescents, 12 years of age to 18th birthday, for the same handling provided to unaccompanied minors.
* Fees for Unaccompanied Minors:
o A charge of $60.00 each way is assessed to transport an unaccompanied minor, or unaccompanied minors traveling together, on a direct / non-stop domestic or international flight.
o A charge of $80.00 each way is assessed to transport an unaccompanied minor, or unaccompanied minors traveling together, on a domestic connection flight. ATA does not transport unaccompanied minors on connecting flights to / from international destinations.
