Infants, Unaccompanied Minors and Children
What is the age range of unaccompanied minors?
Any passenger between the ages of 5 and 18, traveling without his or her parents, guardians or any adult who is responsible for them is considered to be an unaccompanied minor. (Passengers under 5 years old, are not allowed to travel without an adult companion).
If the minor is between the ages of 5 and 12, an Unaccompanied Minor form must be filled out.
If the passenger is between the ages of 12 and 18, he or she is considered to be an unaccompanied minor only upon the parent or guardian's request. If the relative does not wish them to travel as an unaccompanied minor, they must present a signed limited liability form. This applies on domestic and international flights.
At what age are children considered to be infants?
We consider an infant to be a child under 2 years of age. Infants must be accompanied by an adult.
What is the age to be considered a minor or qualify for a child's fare?
Children between the ages of 2 and 12 who are accompanied by an adult are considered minors and qualify for a child's fare.
Do minors receive some kind of discount?
On domestic flights and international flights between Mexico and the US and from the US to Mexico there are no discounts provided to minors. Normally they receive a discount on some other applicable fares, unless they are promotional fares, which do not allow discounts of any kind.
Are infants entitled to luggage allowance?
Yes. The infant is entitled to transport one piece of luggage. The maximum weight allowed, depends on the route flown.

Are minors entitled to a luggage allowance?
Yes. Children who pay the applicable discount for a child's fare are entitled to the same free luggage allowance given to passengers who pay the full adult fare.
